ache

the distance between us
cannot be measured
in miles
or hours.
we can't explain this
with words like near or
far away.
No measures.
this ache just fills the space
between you whom I hold
right here -
and you.
And we adore, resist,
embrace, abhor,
this ache
but it means we live.

Help

Achingly beautiful!
Maybe through shared experiences of pain we humans might find there is something that is closer than distance can interfere?
does this mean that long distance sucks for you too? ;)

Jake.of course I do not know if you refer here to a certain person or adressing a general context,
Most interesting and even thrilling thing…my own experience is more and more that physical distance matters less and less. Sure, travelling is important and neetings and trips and real f2F communication and Comunion.
However the guiding purpose, meaning, values and destiny of our lives are the invisible matrix that is connecting.
As in the Film MATRIX there is this quote:
“There is no spoon”.
This ache reveal for me -its cycling and its scintillating strongly of course -in its core the creative urgency and thrill to express evolution in my life. As Chris Parish - Leading Coordinator of Andrew Cohens Enlightened Communication -says in his actual report about a retreat:
I”t feels like there are on one hand, more and more individuals in the group, because each person stands out as a real conscious agent - a player - who is not following anyone. And at the same time it feels like there are no individuals at all in the group, since there is only the one authentic self, one process, being expressed. There is no gap between self and other, which is felt as ecstatic intimacy, and simultaneously there’s a greatly enhanced autonomy. Pretty remarkable, I think! Once you’re in the non dual realm of the authentic self, these paradoxes become regular features, but I’m still amazed!”
In German language we have the words “Heimweh” and “Fernweh”. Describing the oscillating circle of paradoxical polarity. The Ache of longing to come home and the other one of crossing new horizones as Columbus did. To come home after a long time as Odysseus to Iithaka , his Greek home.
Beeing and becoming…
your photograph communicates that ache perfectly and your words enhance it. thanks.
This picture is so moving…..it sends chills down my spine the beauty that exists in this world. This ache of space that you put into words here is something we have all felt….but I find that the ache is only yet an emotion not a reality at all…..there is very little space between us all when we are in the center of our being….though our physical bodies may be temporarily removed from another physical body's personal space….the place in which that person holds in our heart suggests they are never really away.
Not sure if this is the meaning behind these beautiful words….just my own personal interpretation. :o) Peace and light…..beautiful work
This is how I felt about you, Jake- and now, here you are, sitting right next to me. =_)
